New Børresen M8 flagship

Audio Group Denmark introduces the Børresen M8 Gold Signature, a flagship loudspeaker designed to establish a new reference in ultra high-end sound reproduction.

Developed and handcrafted in Denmark, the M8 Gold Signature represents the most advanced and uncompromising expression of Michael Børresen’s loudspeaker philosophy to date. It has been created without conventional limitations and is based on decades of research into loudspeakers, amplification, and noise control. Its purpose is to reproduce music with maximum control, scale, and realism, independent of room interaction, mechanical resonance, and dynamic compression.

At the core of the design is a folded dipole bass architecture. Each loudspeaker incorporates two folded dipole bass modules using a total of twelve 8-inch woofers operating in forward and backward opposite polarity. This approach controls low-frequency energy before it interacts with the listening room, delivering bass performance characterized by authority, speed, and precision while remaining less dependent on room size and placement.

The M8 Gold Signature is built on the principle that realism in music reproduction depends on speed and control. The drivers are engineered with low moving mass and minimal stored energy to ensure fast transient response and high dynamic stability. They use Michael Børresen’s patented iron-free motor system, which reduces inductance and eliminates magnetic hysteresis. This results in exceptional linearity, low-level resolution, and dynamic responsiveness across the audible range. High frequencies are handled by the RP94 Signature ribbon tweeter.

The loudspeaker is designed as part of a complete system rather than a standalone product. It supports bi-amplification and works with external fully analog crossover networks from Aavik, allowing independent control of bass and midrange/treble sections for optimal integration. It has been developed alongside Aavik reference amplification to ensure a fully coherent system without bottlenecks between electronics and loudspeaker.

Noise control is addressed at every level through cabinet construction and proprietary Ansuz technologies including Active Square Tesla Coils, Analog Dither Technology, and Anti-Aerial Resonance Coils. Multi-layer materials and a three-module architecture ensure controlled energy behavior, while Ansuz Darkz Z3W resonance control devices are included for mechanical grounding. Together, these elements create a low-noise foundation where detail, spatial information, and dynamics can emerge naturally.

Each M8 Gold Signature loudspeaker is built in Denmark, assembled and calibrated by hand, and subjected to extensive measurement and final listening evaluation prior to delivery.
