New Marantz Reference AV30 / AMP30

Marantz expands its reference home-theater range with AV 30 and AMP 30

Marantz has announced two new reference-grade home-theater components: the AV 30, an 11.4-channel AV preamplifier, and the AMP 30, a flexible 6-channel power amplifier. The new models slot neatly into the brand’s existing reference lineup alongside the AV 10 / AMP 10 and AV 20 / AMP 20 combinations, bringing the latest video, room-correction and immersive-audio technologies to the table.

AV 30: processing power and room control

At the heart of the AV 30 is Marantz’s dual-core Analog Devices SHARC DSP platform, paired with high-resolution 32-bit DACs. Out of the box, the preamplifier supports Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room calibration, handling speaker size, distance and level optimization via the included measurement microphone.

For users looking to go further, the AV 30 also supports Dirac Live, Dirac Bass Control, and Dirac Active Room Treatment (ART), offering a wide range of advanced room-correction options.

Streaming is handled via HEOS, with built-in support for Roon Ready, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, and more, allowing the AV 30 to integrate easily into modern multi-room and streaming-focused systems.

AMP 30: flexible, high-power amplification

The AMP 30 is a 6-channel power amplifier rated at 200 watts per channel. For systems that demand more power, channels can be bridged into BTL mode, delivering up to 400 watts per channel. Alternatively, the amplifier can be configured for bi-amping up to three speakers, offering considerable flexibility for custom installations.

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections are provided, ensuring easy integration with a wide range of preamps and processors.

Immersive audio and 8K video support

The AV 30 supports all current immersive audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X, and Auro-3D. On the video side, both the AV 30 and AMP 30 are equipped with seven 8K-capable HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs, ensuring compatibility with the latest sources and displays.

Classic Marantz design, refined for modern systems

Both components feature Marantz’s signature porthole display and refined industrial design. Selectable side illumination adds a subtle visual accent, while the AV 30 includes a fold-down front panel to hide less frequently used controls. The supplied remote control is backlit for comfortable operation in dark home-theater environments.

Positioning within the Marantz ecosystem

Marantz highlights the modular flexibility of the new components. The AMP 30 can, for example, be used to power the front three channels in a system built around a CINEMA 30 AVR, or paired with existing AV 10 or AV 20 processors. Likewise, the AV 30 can be combined with other reference-series amplifiers, allowing systems to be scaled and upgraded over time.

Pricing and availability

Both the Marantz AV 30 and AMP 30 carry an MSRP of USD 4,000 each. Availability is expected from select retailers starting January.
