Danish loudspeaker manufacturer SV-Audio by Storgaard & Vestskov has announced the Astrid, a new floorstanding loudspeaker that will make its world premiere at High End Vienna 2026.

Developed and manufactured in Denmark, the Astrid expands the company’s loudspeaker lineup while continuing the design and acoustic philosophy that has defined previous SV-Audio products. According to the company, the focus has been on achieving natural timing, tonal balance, and a strong emotional connection to music reproduction.
Astrid is built as a 2-way passive loudspeaker featuring a line-source-inspired configuration with four 5-inch mid-woofer drivers and a 38 mm tweeter. Unlike many traditional multi-driver designs, all four mid-woofers operate across the same frequency range, a solution intended to create a broad and stable soundstage with strong coherence and openness.

The increased driver surface area allows the Astrid to move a significant volume of air while maintaining control, resulting in greater physical presence and dynamic capability. SV-Audio states that particular attention has been paid to vocal reproduction, aiming for natural body, richness, and realism, supported by a bass foundation that remains controlled and articulate.
The cabinet utilizes a dual-chamber construction combined with carefully managed driver integration and precise time alignment. According to SV-Audio, this approach helps create a more seamless presentation where instruments and voices are reproduced as a connected whole, while also contributing to a soundstage that extends clearly in front of the listener.

Visually, the Astrid features a solid aluminium front baffle incorporating the company’s machined logo and its signature radiating pattern, elements that form part of both the speaker’s visual identity and acoustic design.
The name “Astrid” originates from the Old Norse name Ásfríðr, often translated as “beloved by the gods” — a Nordic name associated with strength, elegance, and presence.

“Astrid has been part of our vision for a long time. From the beginning, we knew there was a natural place for it within our range,” says Casper Vestskov Poulsen, co-founder of SV-Audio.
Visitors to High End Vienna 2026 will be able to experience the Astrid for the first time at the SV-Audio room:
