The STAX SR-007S Electrostatic Earspeaker features cutting-edge diaphragms and precision-engineered fixed electrodes. Thanks to an advanced etching process, the vent hole diameter has been reduced by 20% compared to previous models, resulting in enhanced sound clarity and accuracy throughout the frequency range while maintaining the deep, resonant character that the 007 series is renowned for. Another significant upgrade is the inclusion of redesigned genuine sheepskin earpads, which rotate to accommodate various head shapes, providing improved comfort for prolonged listening.

The acoustics are optimized through the material and internal structure to minimize reflections and enhance absorption, thus expanding the perceived soundstage and refining spatial presentation. Additionally, the SR-007S now features a detachable cable system, making it consistent with STAX’s current lineup. The 2.5-metre OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) parallel 6-strand wide cable ensures low-capacitance and high signal purity, while the modular design simplifies maintenance and future upgrades for users. Technically, the SR-007S is an open-back, push-pull electrostatic model with a large round sound element. It boasts a frequency response range of 6Hz to 41kHz, an electrostatic capacitance of 110pF, and an impedance of 145kΩ. With a sensitivity rated at 101dB and a standard bias voltage of 580V DC, the earspeaker weighs in at 430g and is proudly manufactured in Japan.
