Cambridge Audio Melomania A100 Wireless In-Ear Headphones

Cambridge Audio has launched the Melomania A100, an updated version of its wireless in-ear headphones. The standout feature of these headphones is their class AB amplification, a characteristic they share with their predecessors. This, combined with LDAC support, elevates the audio reproduction to a level that Cambridge Audio claims is akin to true hi-fi quality.

The Melomania A100 earbuds are designed to deliver Cambridge Audio’s renowned hi-fi sound in a compact form, offering premium amplification and advanced wireless technology for on-the-go listening. The headphones feature a miniaturized Class AB amplifier, closely resembling the technology found in the CX Series and Edge Series amplifiers, but optimized for a wireless format. With 10mm neodymium drivers, users can expect a musical performance characterized by deep bass, rich mids, and clear highs that surpass typical in-ear headphone standards.

These headphones support high-resolution wireless playback with LDAC and aptX Lossless, along with aptX Adaptive and AAC for broad compatibility across various devices and streaming qualities. A unique feature, DynamEQ, automatically adjusts the frequency response at lower volumes, ensuring a balanced and natural sound reminiscent of traditional loudness contouring but executed with greater intelligence.

For noise management, the Melomania A100 employs hybrid Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology that utilizes both feed-forward and feed-back microphones. On battery life, the Melomania A100 offers up to 11 hours of playback on a single charge (when ANC is off) and an additional 28 hours with the charging case. For quick charging, just 10 minutes will provide three hours of listening time. With Bluetooth 5.4 and Multipoint support, users can effortlessly switch between two devices, and a six-mic array with noise reduction guarantees clear phone calls.
